Temagami poem -- Edited

Wind in my hair and water on my skin
On a seemingly endless trail
One step after another

I must continue and never stop
I must keep momentum
One step after another

My feet are slipping and shoulders are burning
My eyes are watering
One step after another

My heart is beating but my friend is helping
I feel the weight lifting
One step after another

Up the steep hills and down slippery rocks
Triping over thick roots
One step after another

Determination
Excellence
Courage
One step after another

I must be strong and must fight the pain
I must fight the wilderness
One step after another

Together we are strong and will fight the pain
The wilderness is no longer our enemy but our friend
We all march together; One step after another

Alone I am weak
Together we are strong
Together we can survive Temagami
